All About Bar1’s Big Break

Bar1 Events and Budweiser are teaming up once again to produce the 6th Annual Bar1’s Big Break: Discovering Chicago’s Best, A Vocal Competition.

This year’s efforts will culminate with a whopping $20,000 in prize money for the winners of this intense 10-week singing competition, including a $15,000 prize for the Big Break Champion. During those ten weeks, Duffy’s will be transformed from mild-mannered sports bar to the epicenter of vocal talent in the Chicagoland area. The singers, illuminated by elaborate stage design, lighting, and top notch digital musical accompaniment, will battle for audience approval as their counterparts are eliminated week by week. An in-house live video broadcast and dedicated production staff creates TV studio ambiance unparalleled in Chicago.

The first three rounds of the competition will be judged and decided by an alternating panel of 3-4 professionals in the Chicago music scene. However, starting in Round 4 the fate of the contestants will be in the hands of the audience; that’s right, the popular vote rules in this contest! With the average night’s attendance in the hundreds, the pressure is on the contestants to perform well to secure the audience vote.
